Hello. i am interested in Web Design, not only becasue there is always work found there since everyone wants their own cool website , but because i like the creative aspect of it. I want to learn how to make cool web pages with flash animations etc, and was considering going to school, but then learned that as long as you are good at it, you should be able to find work without paying 10k for a degree. So, where can i start to learn how to make websites and flash animation ? what will i need to learn? what free softwares are their, and which will i have to purchase when i start getting pro? please help !

February 25th, 2010There are a million ways to learn about web-design. Books, the Internet, CDs, DVDs, etc.
You will find it extremely tough to make money as a designer though. There are too many templates and do-it-yourself books out there for the average Joe to actually hire someone. Furthermore, anyone who’s actually willing to pay for something good will most likely hire a professional who went to a design school or who has a degree in graphic arts, IT or Computer Science.
Your best bet would be to become a pro. with the Macromedia Suite. If you can completely Flash or Dreamweaver, you may stand a chance.
I’d advise learning basic HTML first.
